Just as war is a form of communication- and if we lived in a perfect world… correctly handling escalation is a teaching/learning skill. We cannot lie down to be walked on. Much of the world is escalated. So de-escalation is extreemly important.

My son will turn 14 next week. Oh the “joys” of teenage years! As parents, most of us fully understand how much we “annoy” our children. If you don’t believe that, just ask them.
I have found that the more I remain in check…the more I practice Mushin…the more I carefully use the right words…in other words the more I control “my own escalation” when talking to my son, the better the cooperation, collaboration, and compliance from him.
